Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Wentworth Park, Barnsley to support our General Haulage and Trunking Operations.  This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and we have a variety of shift patterns including days (between 04:00 - 07:00 starts) and Nights (between 16:00 - 19:00 starts) available working any 5 days from 7. Weekend work may be required depending on demand.

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

Mon-Fri Days - £15.15 per hour

Mon-Fri Night Shift - £16.35 per hour

Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour

Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.65 per hour

Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour. 

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax-free allowance (if applicable)

Driver Responsibilities:

General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores

Collections from Stores to load out to Distribution Centres 

Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages

Trunking Opportunities available depending on availability 

Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation

Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism

Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations

Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
