Project Controls Consultant
Job Description
As part of an integrated team for a major nuclear power plant project, the Project Controls Co-ordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating project cost control, change management, risk and opportunities, level 4 Schedule and Limit of Detection (LOD) management methodologies. The role is responsible for ensuring informed business decisions can be made which are crucial for the successful delivery of the project objectives.
The responsibilities will include:
Cost Estimation and Control:
Overseeing cost management processes including activities such as forecasting, resource management and commercial discussions between engineering teams and the client, Monitoring the Budget, Forecast and Actuals in accordance with EPR-E and EDVANCE guidelines as well as NNB reporting requirements.
Implementing client cost control processes and supporting engineering and project teams for annual cost exercises such as Task Order (TO), Landing Estimates (LE2, LE3), Mid Term Plan (MTP), Work Force Planning (WFP) exercises.
Support ITB cost controller with adhoc financial tasks and provide analysis and commentary on performance gaps or analysis on the wider ITB programme
Scheduling and LOD:
Supporting the co-ordination of engineering activities and deliverables in alignment with the scheduling and project controls team to support project KPI’s and overall project schedule requirements.
Ensuring timely implementation of the change process to support project delivery and adherence to LOD and Schedule KPI’s
Ensure the coordination is sufficient between the List of deliverables (LOD) manager and level 4 Scheduler, to ensure close alignment and communication is being shared with the appropriate teams
Be an initial escalation point for the LOD and L4 to support blocking points and challenges.
Team Management:
Provide regular briefings to project managers on project financials, schedule status, issues, and concerns.
Attend weekly meetings with the ITB teams and provide necessary updates and communications
Monitor the project progress of the Project KPIs working closely with the Engineering teams, ITB Cost Controller and Project Controls manager
Monitor the overall ITB forecast outturns (EoY projections) in line with the most recent staffing plan, as well as the client’s expected activity.
Articulate the narrative on deviations and provide clear insights and projections.
Ensure consistency with Central Team KPIs and Reporting.
Provide weekly updates to project controls manager
Run and chair weekly ITB project controls meeting to ensure effective communications
Change, Risk and Opportunities Management:
Support the Change co-ordinator ensuring the creation, management and implementation of the change management process.
Prepare the Cost sheets for the Change request
Be an initial escalation point for blockers and challenges.
